The Walkley Awards were presented in 30 categories in the Ballroom of the ICC in Sydney last night. Asked for a comment when contacted to pass on our congratulations, Michael said: “Every story is a team effort and it’s so good to be a part of an incredible team at the Herald, particularly my colleague Jennifer Duke who really deserves all the credit.”

Well done Michael and Jennifer.

Michael is pictured here with our MECO newsroom team, Dr Bunty Avieson and Pam Walker, in the Courtyard cafe in May. The team had just finished covering the federal election for Salience and The Junction and Michael generously donated his time to talk about his experiences while covering the campaign.
